Holy Affair Batman....

It's kind of crazy how many extra marital affairs are circulating my town lately. I've known two women just recently were blind sided by their husbands cheating ways.  I stumbled onto this article today while looking around ivillage and it got me to thinking. How many people do I know have cheating spouses? I would have NEVER suspected my friends husbands of cheating.  Sadly, I suspect a few I do know are carrying on an affair and their wives are blind to them. My heart goes out to the ladies I know and the ones who have yet to find out.

It seems everyday in the news some actor, senate leader or public figure is caring on with an affair.  Crazy how people will risk everything for a thrill, sex, or emotional connection.  What's sad  is all the hurt and pain caused in the wake of the affair.  Families torn apart, and relationships forever broken.  

How does someone trust someone who would leave their family?  How can you build a life around that?  I just don't understand the people who believe they are "different" then the last person. If someone can shut off their emotions for someone for whom they they have built their life with, they can do it for you.  When my friend's husband left her at 33 WEEKS PREGNANT, I scoured the internet for some reason why a sane person would do this.  I did come across a REALLY good explanation.  There actually is a chemical reaction that takes place within the body when a person has an affair.  Hormones are released and a euphoric sensation clouds their better judgment.  Hence, making them numb to their partner.  They say this is what happens when people say, I love you but I'm not in love with you.  The intense feelings override the bond they have with their partner and causes them to lose sight of their true feelings for their spouse.  Makes sense.

Men aren't the only ones who cheat, but I'm just speaking right now about recent events going on with my friends.  Kinda crazy world.Some relationships can survive an affair. I personally would jump ship...I could never trust the person again, but to each their own.... 

Dream A Little Dream...

Ok, anyone who knows me, knows I'm a career hopper.  I get antsy and I want to do something else. Something different.  I don't plan on giving up photography, but I do want to spice it up a bit.  I wanted to go back for graphic design...BUT realistically, I can't right now. Before that was a medical degree and I had to scale back my aspirations due to reality.  I really do not want to acquire anymore debt until all our current debt is paid off.  The joys of being a responsible adult.  Currently, paying off a mouthful of over $5,000 worth of braces not including some lovely credit cards ; ) With school, I wouldn't qualify for aid so everything would have to come out of pocket...oh joy.  Eric paid off his student loans a few years back and it's nice to not have student loans looming over our heads.

I do plan on going back to school...just not so sure when I will be able to.  I also plan on having another baby...that too...not so sure on the timing.  So...this leads me to my new current adventure.  I have to laugh as I type this...just because it seems so silly and yet something that is so perfectly me.  Drum roll...I'm tossing the idea around of becoming a wedding and event planner.  My friends have told me I would be perfect for this for a long time.  I practically run the wedding when I shoot one as a wedding photographer.  I love planning, decorating and the whole concept organization of a party.  I get a slight high walking through party supply stores and enjoying eye candy on the internet of awesome parties.  We shall see where this leads me.  I'm looking into taking some courses and getting accredited. Eric is on board with this.  He thinks I'm crazy and wonders when he will have his chance to quit work and start his own arcade store...ummm...I tell him as soon as I start making $100k.

Since I'm already known as the party lady I figure why not get paid for it : ) I'm excited and plan on starting classes ASAP.  So we shall see where this goes...No matter what...the classes are not very pricey so if this little adventure leads me no where, I'll at least know how to throw better parties ; )

and hopefully, I will make goddess Martha proud ; )

Fathers Day...

This morning my oldest son greeted my hubby Eric with a bowl of his favorite cereal and a Happy Fathers Day saying.  Eric beamed ear to ear.  My God, my hubby is awesome.  Yes, he drives me crazy and yes there are days when I question his sanity concerning computers, games or new building plans, but never have I doubted him as a Father.  When Eric and I married he married not only me, but Spencer as well.  The two of us were a packaged deal.  I'll never forget the days when we dated how natural his love for Spencer was. He was so kind and patient with Spencer.  He loved Spen for who was, not because he was my son, or because he was trying to impress me.  He took Spencer on as his son.  A lot of men cannot do that.  Eric has loved Spencer with his full heart from the beginning.  I'll never forget when I miscarried and there was a chance I could not have anymore children. I cried to him telling him I was sorry.  He told me he was already given a child through Spencer and he was perfect for him. Then when Cedric was born nothing changed.  He still loved Spencer fully. He wanted to incorporate Spencer in every aspect of Cedric's arrival. I think you can tell a lot about a persons character when things like that happen.  He spoils both boys to the extreme, but both equally.  The term step child does not exist in our vocabulary.  He has two sons and he adores both.   Eric is a really great dad.  Never have a felt like I was alone in my parenting.  He has been there during every sickness, scrap or fall.  My hubby has done his share of baby rocking and diaper changing. He is so funny with Cedric and he helps out beyond my wildest expectations.  I love my hubby so much.  I can never seem to find the words to convey how truly awesome he is.  He's not masterfully cool, or fathers knows best but somewhere in the middle is Eric...and he's perfect for us : )  He has the ability to be silly, selfless and wise all at the right moments life calls for them.  My children are so lucky to have a dad like him and I'm so blessed to call him my husband and best friend.

  I hope everyone out there shares their love with the fathers in their life.  Let them know how special they are and how truly precious the gift of being a dad is. Have a great day guys!!!

I need a tray like this for my formal living room coffee table.  Although, I cannot fathom paying the price for this gem...nothing a little spray paint and a fab find can't solve ; )

How adorable!!!!  But again the $$$.  This reminds me of  some tutorials on how to make your own...never pay full price ladies when you have paint, a dollar store, and glue gun handy ; )

Eye candy du jour...

I'm on the hunt for a new mirror in my bedroom.  I'm trying to mod it up a bit and thought a star burst mirror would be perfect for it.  Here are few mirrors I like and thought I'd share the eye candy...

I've decided I'm going to start painting this week on the bedroom!!!  I'm excited.  I love how color can transform a room.  I love these grays for my bedroom.

Now to decide on a color...hummmmmm...

 I also love this photo arrangement in the below picture.  I'm thinking about doing something similar to this in my master bath.  I'm can't wait to get started!!!

Saugatuck In Pics...

The hubby and I drove over to Saugatuck last week with the kids.  I was told by a close friend it was a must and I'm so glad I listened!!!  It's a little artist community full of fun finds and unique pieces.  

I only snapped a few pics...but here they are...

I loved this texture...Saugatuck was a place straight out of the movies.  Coffee shops, artists and beautiful aged homes.  My heart went swoon.  I think every now and again you have to get away and visit places you never would find yourself again.  Collecting beautiful life memories is becoming a serious hobby of mine : )

 Their streets were like the ones you read about in stories describing the great north lakes.  Little coastal hubs of greatness.  I loved the architecture. Pure eye candy for the soul : )

More Mini-Vacay pics : )

I had a blast in Michigan.  I will admit there were some trying times. I took two kids to the beach by myself and my 19 month old son has no fear.  I lovingly refer to him as Johnny Knoxville baby.  He kept diving into the water and laughing at the waves crashed on him.  It was super adorable but nerve wrecking at the same time.  My oldest was awesome as usual. He helped me keep his younger brother from floating away.  Sheeshhh...life with a toddler. 

We enjoyed root beer floats at the cafe and somehow managed to bring half the beach home with us in our swimsuits.  My car is still full of sand. Oy vey!!!  But I wouldn't have had it any other way : )

I love this pic because it depicts the life of a older brother.  Poor Spencer was getting hit with the Ceddy's love of sand.

 We then went to Dutch Village and it was indeed just that...

 Cedric was very cool and laid back with the goats...Spencer...not so much...

 The Dutch really dig those wooden shoes.  I wanted a pair but did not want to pay $80...yikes.

Funny story Spencer BEGGED to buy food so he could feed the goats.  Once I gave him the money he hurried and got the feed then proceeded to sprinkle it on the ground in front of them.  He refused to feed it to them by hand...the poor baby goats looked at him like he was nuts so mom had to step in and show him how it's done.  I love baby goats : )

Spencer BEGGED for me to climb the wooden shoe play ground and go down the slide.  I did what any other crazy mom would do...I climbed it ; )

Yes, I'm almost 30 and yes I wear braces.
